Krusinski Named HL Swimmer of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Sophomore Jack Krusinski of the Cleveland State University men's swimming & diving team was named Nike Horizon League Men's Swimmer of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

It's the second weekly honor of the season for Krusinski, who also earned the award Oct. 29.

Krusinski was a frequent point-scorer for the Vikings as they competed in three separate dual meets this past week.

Krusinski won seven of the nine races he contested as an individual across the trio of duals. He was a perfect 3-for-3 in first-place finishes against Miami (Ohio) Jan. 7 and in a dual at UIC Jan. 10. In his 3-for-3 effort against the Flames, Krusinski won both the 100 and 200 breaststroke by at least two full seconds. Krusinski won the 100 breaststroke for the third straight dual Jan. 11 at UIC and also won the 200 IM twice during the week. He also swam on winning 400 medley relay teams against both the RedHawks and Flames.

Krusinski owns the top time in the league this season in the 200 breaststroke (2:00.52) and is among the top four in the league in both the 100 breast (55.48) and 400 IM (4:00.64).

Cleveland State has won the Men's Swimmer of the Week award from the league in every week that it has competed this season.

Cleveland State is off from competition this weekend before resuming action on the road on the final weekend of the month.
