Vikings Announce Addition of Julian Pellegrini

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State University head men's soccer coach Sinisa Ubiparipovic announced the signing of Julian Pellegrini to a National Letter of Intent Monday afternoon.

Pellegrini is a forward that hails from Medina, Ohio. He attends Saint Ignatius High School where he competed in soccer in his freshman year. He then transitioned to competing full-time for Internationals in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy.



"Julian is a technically gifted player who is constantly looking to impact the game offensively," Ubiparipovic said. "He was part of an academy system that has prepared him well to come n and have instant success with our program."

Over the past three seasons, Pellegrini has competed for Internationals, at the U-16/17 and U-18/19 levels, as part of the Academy program. He had played in 14 of 15 matches in the current campaign before it was interrupted, starting 12 times. Prior to Internationals, Pellegrini played for Team Challenger FC, playing in prestigious competitions such as the National League and the Dallas Cup.

Pellegrini also was a member of the 2016 Saint Ignatius squad that won the Ohio Division I state championship. The Wildcats went undefeated en route to the title.

Pellegrini has also achieved at a high level in his academic career, tallying a 3.90 cumulative grade point average in his career to date at Saint Ignatius.

Ubiparipovic completed his first season as head coach at CSU this past fall and led the Vikings to notable results against nationally ranked Louisville, Ohio State and Akron. The Vikings led the Horizon League in fewest goals allowed, yielding only 17 in 15 matches.
