ON THE ROAD AGAIN
After opening the campaign with five-straight matches in enemy territory and playing in their home opener on April 3, the Cleveland State Vikings are back on the road for Saturday's match against future ASUN rival Robert Morris (4-5), which snapped a two-game skid with last week's 16-15 nailbiter over Jacksonville. The Colonials have played three ranked opponents this season, including a four-goal loss to No. 1 Duke. Robert Morris owns a 2-0 edge in the head-to-head series with the Vikings, winning the most recent matchup 13-8 at Krenzler Field in April 2019.

HOME SWEET HOME
The Vikings played the first of two scheduled home games last week in a convincing 16-4 victory over VMI that featured a combined nine tallies from redshirt senior Chase Baker and senior Tristan Hanna. Jason Sullivan had a career day, collecting a career-high seven points with a pair of goals and five assists, surpassing his previous high of five points. Sophomore goalie Kevin Sobey supplied strong play in net, stopped 11 of 15 shots (.733 save percentage).

BAKER'S BIG DAY, SULLIVAN'S SETUPS
Chase Baker netted a career-high five goals in a 16-4 win over VMI last week, becoming the first Viking with at least five goals in a match since Tristan Hanna poured in seven tallies in a record-setting performance during Cleveland State's 12-11 overtime win over No. 16 Air Force on Feb. 22, 2020.

Jason Sullivan also shined against VMI with a pair of goals and five assists, making him the first Viking to hit the seven point mark in a contest since Hanna's heroics. Sullivan is also the first Viking to dish out five assists in a match since Michael Wilson distributed six helpers in a 10-9 win over Lafayette on March 12, 2019.

IN THE WIN COLUMN
After falling to 0-2 to start the season, the Vikes picked up their first "W" on March 13, silencing Bellarmine's offensive attack in an 8-1 victory that saw sophomore goalie Kevin Sobey stop 17 of the 18 shots he faced. Chase Baker notched a hat trick in his first action of the campaign while Michael Wilson scored and dished out an assist. As a team, the Vikings posted their best defensive effort against a Division I opponent in program history, holding the opposition to under five goals for the first time ever. It also marked Cleveland State's first win while being outshot and fourth having fewer ground balls than the competition.

CONSISTENCY IS KEY
Brendan Sigurdson is the only Viking to register at least a point in all six matches, including his first hat trick in a 10-9 setback at Mercer to open the campaign. Sigurdson leads Cleveland State with 12 points (5-7-12) across six appearances.

TURN 'EM OVER
With six caused turnovers against Bucknell on March 7, redshirt senior Zach Whitenack became the Vikings' all-time leader in the category. Whitenack, who had 11 CT over a two-game stretch against Bucknell and Bellarmine earlier this season and sits at 45 career CT, surpassed former Vikes Isaac Atencio and Skyler Jiminenz, who were previously tied for the lead with 37 each.

IN THE RANKINGS - AS A TEAM
The Vikings are second in the country in man-down defense at 87.5 percent, allowing only two EMO goals across 16 opportunities. Cleveland State is 19th in the country in clearing percentage (.868) while ranking 42nd in caused turnovers per game (7.33).

IN THE RANKINGS - INDIVIDUALLY
Redshirt senior Zach Whitenack is third in the country in caused turnovers per game (2.5) while goaltender Kevin Sobey has recorded 79 saves through six games, whichties the sophomore for 12-most saves per game in NCAA DI: 13.17. Sobey is 12th in save percentage (.577) and 22nd in goals-against average (9.76). Freshman Evan Moskwa ranks just outside the top 30 nationally in faceoff win percentage (.535).
