Cleveland State Golf Teams Wrap Up Fall Season at Dayton Flyer Invitational

Kettering, OH-The Cleveland State Golf teams concluded their fall seasons today at the Dayton Flyer Invitational at NCR Country Club. Both teams fought through less than ideal conditions, with cold temperatures and a frost delay on Day 2.

The women's team finished sixth, after carding a 332(+52) in round two. The women were led by Sabrina Coffman, who shot 80 in the second round and finished tied for 17th at 20 over par. This marks the third top-20 finish for Coffman in the four events the Vikings played this fall.

The men's team finished in 10th place overall. Round 2 was suspended due to darkness, so players had to finish the final few holes to start the day before playing round 3. The men carded a 306(+22) in the second round, and followed with a 309(+25) in the third round.

Andrew Kaye was the highest placing Viking individually on the men's side. Kaye closed with a final round 77(+6), to finish with a three-round total of 12 over par. That score was good enough for a top-20 finish, as Kaye ended tied for 19th.

Other Viking competitors on the women's side include: Lexi Knight(T-27, +22), Mandie Ruminski(29th, +23), Olivia Swain(T-42, +30), and Brynna Mardis(T-56, +40). Abby Blackburn, competing as an individual, finished in 61st place at 48 over par.

For the men: Brody Simms(T-32, +16), David Laib(T-44, +18), Gunnar McCollins(T-48, +19), and Jack Hanus(T-76, +32). Alex Anderson(T-62, +22) and Mason Frazier(81st, +36) competed as individuals.

The Vikings will now look ahead to the spring portion of the schedule. Stay tuned to csuvikings.com for details on upcoming events.
