Cleveland State Heads to North Carolina for River Run Collegiate

TOURNAMENT PREVIEW

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland State men's golf team resumes its fall schedule as it will compete in the River Run Collegiate. The tournament will begin on Monday (Sept. 23) on the River Run Country Club course.

This Vikings will be making their inaugural appearance in the River Run Collegiate, which is hosted by Davidson.

Fifteen teams will be competing in this year's tournament. Participants include: Davidson, Charlotte, Francis Marion, Furman, Gardner Webb, James Madison, Marshall, Mercer, Presbyterian, Radford, Richmond, Temple, William & Mary and Wright State.
 
The first 36-holes of play will begin on Monday at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. Tuesday's final round will begin with tee times at selected holes beginning at 8:30 a.m.
 
The River Run Country Club is an 18-hole course and will play to a par of 72 at 7,317 yards over the two-day tournament.

This will mark the Vikings fourth tournament of the season having participated in the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate, the Joe Faeganes Invitational and the Eastern Kentucky Intercollegiate. Through three tournaments Zach Robbins leads the Vikings with a 71.3 scoring average, while Jack Hanus has a 73.8 stroke average.

Jules Blakely has participated in all nine rounds this season and has a 73.9 average.

Gunnar McCollins has a 74.0 average in his nine rounds of play and David Laib is averaging 79.2 strokes per round.
