Post Game Quotes

Cleveland State Head Coach Mike Garland: "There is a saying that in every ballgame, every possession counts. And in this ballgame, every possession counted. This was a character win from my kids tonight. I've said it a million times that I have character kids. I'm not saying were playing championship-level basketball yet, but this is how you win. You win with character people and that's what our kids did."

On forward Frashon McGee: "Frashon McGee was unbelievable tonight. We put him in there and he was guarding low guard and he got it stopped so he couldn't shoot it over the top of us. He wasn't out there running his mouth. He was getting it done with actions. He made big plays down the stretch. That's character stuff. That's what I want this program to be about."

"Those kids haven't had a day off in almost a half a month. Not one day off because of the schedule and practice and exams. It's tough. I knew we were going to have to gut it out. I knew we would not have the exact same energy as we did at Michigan State. But this is how you win basketball games. In February, we are going to have to win games where your body feels the same way, and you do that with character. And you do that by grinding things out and being blue collar."

Cleveland State forward Raheem Moss: "At the beginning I was struggling with my shot, but as a shooter, you just have to keep working on it and eventually you will find your touch."

On his three-pointer at the end of regulation: "I was looking for my shot most of the time. We weren't trying to force anything. The timeout was big cause we were able to set something up. That was really the play right there."

Cleveland State forward Luke Murphy: On forward Raheem Moss: "He's the main one. He's the guy we go to in order to get a bucket. He definitely took over, especially late in the game and in overtime."

Utah Valley State Head Coach Dick Hunsaker: "This was a tough game. They hung with it and made a big shot at the end of regulation. I give them a tremendous amount of credit staying in the game."
