OPENING TIP:
• The Vikings will begin the 2020 Horizon League Men's Basketball Tournament on Tuesday at Oakland
• Coach Dennis Gates was named Horizon League Men's Basketball Co-Coach of the Year 
• Junior forward Algevon Eichelberger was named to the All-League Third Team, announced Monday, March 2
• Cleveland State enters the tournament as a seven seed, while Oakland is the sixth overall seed
• The Vikings enter tonight's contest with a 7-11 record in HL play, which is its best finish since the 2014-15 season
Algevon Eichelberger has 19 straight double-figure scoring games...he's scored 10+ in 24 of his 28 games
Torrey Patton has been on fire as of late, tallying 17.0 points and 10.0 rebounds over his last two games
 
THE OAKLAND SEASON SERIES:
• This will be the 19th all-time meeting between these teams
• Oakland leads the series 10-8
• Oakland took down Cleveland State 79-74 on Feb. 13 in Oakland
Last time out, Al Eichelberger tallied a career-high 28 points on 11-22 (.500) shooting from the floor, a team-high tying seven rebounds, three assists, a game-high tying two steals and one block in 35.5 minutes of play

• Cleveland State ranks among the top 25 in Division I in free throw attempts, having taken 672 this season, good for 24th in the NCAA
• Cleveland State has attempted double digit free throws in every game this season and has attempted 20+ freebies in 20 of 31 games
• The Vikings made a season-high 27 free throws, on 29 attempts, Jan. 23 vs. Green Bay, shooting 93.1 percent from the line

• Cleveland State is second in the league in steals in Horizon League games, averaging 7.56 thefts per contest
Craig Beaudion leads CSU, and is second in the HL, as he is netting 2.2 steals per HL contest
 
LEAGUE ROUND UP:
• Cleveland State holds a 7-11 record in Horizon League play this season
• Oakland sits at 8-10 in league play, while holding an overall record of 13-18
• In their last meeting, the Vikings fell to Oakland, 79-74, on Feb. 13 in Oakland
 
HORIZON LEAGUE HONORS:
• Cleveland State freshman guard Hugo Ferreira was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week on Feb. 24
• He recorded a career-high 14 points on 6-10 (.600) shooting from the field, including a 2-4 (.500) clip from three-point territory, to go along with three assists, three steals and two rebounds in 31 minutes against league-leading Wright State (Feb. 22)
• Cleveland State junior Torrey Patton was named the Horizon League Player of the Week on Jan. 6
• Patton had a career day in the Vikings 82-74 victory over Youngstown State
• He scored a career-high 25 points, grabbed a career-high eight rebounds and handed out a career-high six assists
• He finished the game 9-of-12 from the floor, 2-of-2 from the three-point line and 5-of-8 from the free throw line
 
THE CLUTCH GENE:
Torrey Patton drilled the game-tying three-pointer against Wright State on Feb. 22 inside the Wolstein Center
• Two games later, Patton knocked down the game-winning triple in a league battle at Milwaukee (Feb. 27)
• Sophomore Tre Gomillion has two game-winning baskets for the Vikings this season
• He tipped in a missed shot at the buzzer giving the Vikings an 82-80 victory over IUPUI on Monday
• Gomillion also tipped in a missed shot with 10 seconds to play lifting the Vikings to a 47-46 win against UNC Wilmington
 
ABOUT THE VIKINGS:
• Cleveland State enters the contest with a 11-20 overall record and a 7-11 record in the Horizon League
Algevon Eichelberger (15.2), Craig Beaudion (14.2), and Torrey Patton (13.5) are all averaging double figure scoring efforts in Horizon League play
Algevon Eichelberger leads the Vikings, averaging 14.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per game overall
Algevon Eichelberger is fifth in the Horizon League, shooting 45.8 percent from the floor 
Craig Beaudion is second in the league in minutes in league play, averaging 37.7 per HL game
• Cleveland State is second in the Horizon League in steals in league games, averaging 7.47 swipes per outing
