OPENING TIP:
• Cleveland State will play in its final game of a three-game road trip on Saturday (Feb. 15) against Detroit Mercy
• During the road trip, the Vikings stopped at Youngstown State (Feb. 8) and Oakland (Feb. 13)
• The Vikings enter tonight's contest with a 5-8 record in Horizon League play, while Detroit Mercy sits at 4-9
Algevon Eichelberger has 14 straight double-figure scoring games, after tallying a career-high 28 points on 11-22 (.500) shooting from the floor, a team-high tying seven rebounds, three assists, a game-high tying two steals and one block in 35.5 minutes of play against the Golden Grizzlies (Feb. 13)
• Three Vikings have scored in double figures in each of the last five games
• Detroit Mercy is coming off of a 76-72 loss at Youngstown State (Feb. 13)
 
THE DETROIT MERCY SERIES:
• This will be the 70th all-time meeting between these teams
• Detroit Mercy leads the series, 24-45
• Detroit Mercy came to the Wolstein Center on Jan. 9, with the Vikings winning that contest 64-59
• In their last meeting, Cleveland State held Detroit Mercy to 30.3% shooting from the floor (20-66), and outscored the Titans 32-20 in points in thet paint and 26-17 in points off the bench
 
KEEP YOUR EYE ON HIM:
• Junior Algevon Eichelberger has had a breakout season for the Vikings in 2019-20
• He has started all 23 games in which he has played this season and leads the team averaging 14.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game
• He leads the Vikings with 19 double-figure scoring games and posted his first four career double-doubles this year
• Eichelberger finished with a career-high 28 points on 11-22 (.500) shooting from the floor against Oakland (Feb. 13), marking the 14th straight game he's posted double figures and the second consecutive game of pouring in 20-more-more (5th this season)
 
LAST TIME OUT - CSU 74, Oakland 79 (2/13):
Kasheem Thomas knocked down a career-high four triples, on his way to a season-high 12 points...in addition to his 12 points, he also dished out two assists in 26.4 minutes
Tre Gomillion finished with 16 points on 6-11 (.545) shooting from the floor, two rebounds, a game-high four assists, one steal and one block in 37.1 minutes...it marked his 10th game this season where the 6'4" sophomore scored 10-or-more points. He was two points shy of tying a season-best 18 points (at South Carolina, Nov. 15, 2019)
• The Vikings attempted 15 free throws, marking the 26th straight game of attempting at least 10 shots from the charity stripe
• In the second half, Cleveland State shot .571 (16-28) from the floor, including a .667 (4-6) clip from three-point territory, scoring 43 points in the final 20 minutes of play
 
ABOUT THE VIKINGS:
• Cleveland State enters the contest with a 9-17 overall record and a 5-8 record in the Horizon League
