Vikings In Italy: Day 8 - Rome

Rome Day 8 Photo Gallery

Monday marked our final day in Italy, and it was bittersweet! We have all had such an amazing time over the last eight days, but we are so ready to get back to the CLE and put all of our practice and team bonding to good use on the court!

The final sightseeing tour took us to The Colosseum…and WOW! This is definitely a must-see when in Rome and it was a great way to end the trip.

It was just a quick hop, skip, and a jump away from the hotel, and on the walk there Jaclyn took us across a foot bridge with hands down the best view of The Colosseum. After taking some quick pictures (including our best team picture of the trip!) we continued on to the entrance where we met our local guide.

Stepping into The Colosseum is just breathtaking…and to think it is still standing today is beyond words. The local guide did such a great job of transporting us back to the original times of The Colosseum and you could just picture everything that took place there all those years ago.

After about 30 minutes we said goodbye to our guide and had some time to walk around on our own and get all of the pictures we could ever want!

Following The Colosseum tour we were on our own for some final sightseeing during the afternoon…the Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, whatever we could stumble upon.

Now we are off to have one more true Italian pasta dish because, When In Rome…
