Vikings In Italy: Day 5 - Florence

Friday marked GAMEDAY #2 (!!!!) for us, and it turned out to be another good day!

We had a pretty relaxed morning, with our only planned activity being a stop to the Galleria Dell'Accademia. Among other wonderful works of art, this is where Michelangelo's statue of David (the original) is housed.

Since we were coming as a large group we were able to get a reserved group tour time, and after leaving the hotel right on time, our guide Jaclyn had to keep us moving on the walk there. One thing that is easy to notice is that Italians like to keep up the pace when walking anywhere! We have been told countless times, Andiamo! (Let's go!)...and I'm sure there will be many more Andiamo's throughout the rest of the trip!

After taking in all of the gorgeous art pieces in the Accademia we were then on our own for the rest of the day until it was time to head out for the game!

We went back to the same gym from the first game (air conditioned!!) and we were part of a doubleheader as North Texas played the Italy All-Stars before our game.

After improving to 2-0 on the trip, we once again had postgame pizza (because you can't break tradition!) and headed back to the hotel for our final night in Florence.
