Peter McOwen enters his third season as an Assistant Coach of the Vikings fencing program.
In the 2021 shortened season, McOwen helped six athletes qualify for the NCAA Championships, three men and three women. The six fencers qualifying, tied the most NCAA qualifiers in a single season in program history.
During his second year on staff, McOwen helped the men post their best result at the Midwest Championships, taking second while the women finished sixth. During this season, 21 student-athletes qualified for the NCAA Regional, the most in program history.
In year one, he helped the Vikings finish men finish 20th at the 2018 Midwest Conference Championships.
