CSU Travels to Ohio State for Elite Invitational Duals

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State University men's and women's fencing teams will head to Ohio State for the second time this season this weekend.

The Vikings will compete at the Elite Invitational Duals inside French Field House.

The Competition
Both the men's and women's teams will open the day against North Carolina. The men then have a two-round bye while the women compete against Cornell and Northwestern. Both teams will end the day by fencing Ohio State. This will be the second meeting of the season against Ohio State, and the first time that the Vikings have fenced UNC, Cornell or Northwestern this season.

Each of the Vikings' opponents this weekend finished in the top 25 of the 2018 NCAA Fencing Championships this past March. Head coach Andy Tulleners believes these early tough tests will prove to be an excellent learning opportunity to build for the second half.

The Vikings This Season
Both CSU teams are off to hot starts as the women are 8-4 and the men are 11-1. The Vikings traveled to Ohio State for the OSU Duals at the end of September, and the women finished 4-2 and the men finished 5-1.
