The Official Home of the Cleveland State University Vikings

Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion

The Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion is located at East 21st and Chester and is home to the CSU men's and women's tennis teams.

The MMTP was made possible by a $1.4 million gift from Cleveland-based Medical Mutual of Ohio to Cleveland State University. The Pavilion gives CSU an all-season tennis facility for use by the tennis teams, the university community and the public.

The funds allowed CSU to transform its six tennis courts by installing a seasonal dome, along with mechanical systems to provide heat, air and insulation for year-round play. In addition, the MMTP features spectator viewing areas and other amenities.

CSU is the only school in the Horizon League with an indoor tennis facility.

The CSU women's team defeated Akron, 4-3, in the first-ever match in the MMTP on March 9, 2016.

The MMTP was officially dedicated on April 21, 2016, with officials cutting a ceremonial tennis net.

The festivities culminated with a friendly doubles match between CSU President Dr. Berkman and Medical Mutual Chairman, President and CEO Mr. Rick Chiricosta, who were paired with CSU tennis players Victoria Bensimon and Mathilde Orange, respectively.
