Laura Klimchock

Laura Klimchock arrived at Cleveland State in August of 2016 as an academic advisor. She works with the women's soccer, women's basketball and men's lacrosse program.

In her role, she works with student-athletes to provide a bluepring for a successful academic career. Klimchock assists with the transition to college life, choosing a major and ensuring progress toward a degree.

Prior to arriving at CSU, Klimchock spent three years in the same role at Duquesne, working with the men's basketball program. She came to Duquesne from Boston University where she served as assistant director for student-athlete support services. She also was the departmental learning specialist and tutoring coordinator while at BU.

Prior to her move to Boston, Klimchock was the learning specialist for men’s and women’s basketball at Towson University in Towson, Md. She also gained experience as a graduate assistant with the student-athlete services department at Akron, where she worked extensively with the men’s basketball program.

A 2008 graduate of St. Vincent College, Klimchock was a four-year starter and two-year captain for the Bearcats’ basketball team - finishing her playing career as the ninth-leading scorer in school history with 1,322 points. She completed her undergraduate degree in communication/public relations and advertising in 2008 and added a master’s in education/sports administration from Akron in 2011.
