Lisa Hehman is in her second stint at Cleveland State and ninth year overall working as an Academic Advisor with the men’s and women’s basketball teams.

Hehman works with the CSU student-athletes, providing academic advising and oversight and other support for the men’s and women’s basketball teams.

In addition, Hehman works with CSU student-athletes to implement the NCAA Champs Life Skills Program and serves as the departmental oversight for the Student-Athlete Advisory Council.

Hehman first arrived at CSU in July of 2007 and spent two years as the Life Skills Specialist and Academic Advisor with the men’s and women’s basketball teams.

She then moved on to the University of Kansas where she served as an Academic Counselor for the men’s and women’s track and field teams from 2009-2012.

Hehman arrived back at CSU in March of 2012.

She also has experience as a Graduate Assistant for Student Support Services from 2004-07 at the University of Missouri, Kansas City.

In addition, she was a Counseling Intern at Lee’s Summit H.S. (2006-07) and a Secondary English teacher from 2002-04 in the Kansas City, Mo., School District.

A 2001 graduate of the University of Kansas, Hehman earned a master’s degree in counseling and guidance from UMKC earlier this spring.

Hehman and her husband, Kevin, reside in Lakewood.
