Men's Basketball
-Cleveland State will continue its season-long four-game homestand by hosting IUPUI Thursday (Jan. 30) and UIC on Saturday (Feb. 1).
-The Vikings split a pair of home games this past week, coming up just short to Green Bay (74-78) before cruising past Milwaukee (70-53).
-Junior Craig Beaudion had a season-high 26 points against the Phoenix before adding another 19 in the win over the Panthers.
-CSU shot 51.1% from the field against Milwaukee while holding the Panthers to 25.4%, the lowest figure by a Viking opponent this season. 

Academic Recognition Night
-During halftime of the men's basketball game against IUPUI on Thursday, January 30, the Cleveland State Department of Athletics will recognize 250+ student-athletes who earned a 3.0 GPA or better in the classroom during the 2019 Fall Semester.
-As a department, the Vikings posted a 3.13 GPA last semester, including 33 student-athletes who posted perfect 4.0's.

Women's Basketball
-Cleveland State (15-5, 5-4) will begin the second half of Horizon League play on the road this week, traveling to IUPUI on Thursday, January 30 and UIC on Saturday, February 1.
-Last time out, the Vikings split their contests against Milwaukee and Green Bay, with their win coming in a 58-49 decision against the Panthers on their annual Kids Day Game.
-Entering this week's games, sophomore Savanna Crockett ranks 10th in the CSU Career Record Book with 66 blocked shots, while senior Mariah Miller is just 10 points shy of recording 1,000 career points.

Fencing
-Cleveland State will close the regular season this Saturday, February 1, at Northwestern's Winter NU Duals.
-The CSU men went 6-1 while the women went 5-2 at Notre Dame's DeCicco Duals this past weekend.
-The Viking women defeated two teams (Lawrence, Wayne State) they lost to earlier this season while the men beat Wayne State after losing to the Warriors earlier this month.
-The CSU women's epee unit claimed an 8-1 victory over Northwestern in the Vikings' 17-10 setback to the nationally ranked foe.

Men's Swimming & Diving
-Cleveland State will close the regular season this Saturday, February 1, as it welcomes Kenyon at 10:30 a.m.
-The Vikings dropped duals at Michigan State (135.5-165.5) and Oakland (106-193) this past weekend.
-Junior Matt Akers won three of four events on the diving boards across the two meets and posted NCAA Zone qualifying scores on both boards.

Women's Swimming & Diving
-Cleveland State will close the regular season this Saturday, February 1, as it welcomes Kenyon at 10:30 a.m.
-The Vikings dropped duals at Michigan State (78-216) and Oakland (109-190) this past weekend.
-Rachel Contich and Madi Jaszcz both won an individual event at Oakland and swam on the winning 400 freestyle relay squad.

Wrestling
-Cleveland State will travel to local rival Kent State Saturday, February 1, before returning home Sunday, February 2, to host Central Michigan.
-The Vikings split duals on the road this past weekend, topping SIU Edwardsville (21-14) before being competitive in a loss at nationally ranked Missouri (12-20).
-Logan Heil (125 lb.), Evan Cheek (141 lb.) and Ben Smith (197 lb.) all went 2-0 on the weekend.
-Smith produced a pin at SIUE and then topped a nationally ranked opponent in overtime against Missouri.

Lacrosse
-Cleveland State will open its fourth season of competition this Saturday, February 1, as it hosts Marquette at 11:00 a.m.
-Cleveland State posted a winning record in its third season of existence by winning seven of its final 10 games in 2019.
-The Vikings will be under the direction of first-year head coach Andy German, who was an assistant during the program's first three years.

Men's Tennis
-The Vikings will be back in action with a trio of matches this weekend, traveling to Penn State on Thursday, January 30 and hosting Butler and St. Francis (PA) on Saturday, February 1.
-Cleveland State enters the week with a 1-1 record on the year, picking up its first win of the 2020 spring season in a 5-2 decision over Toledo last time out.
-The Vikings swept the Horizon League weekly honors last week, with Nico Mostardi earning Singles Player of the Week accolades and Matthew Terry and Kade Mindry being named the Doubles Team of the Week. 

Women's Tennis
-Cleveland State will return to action with a doubleheader on Saturday, February 1, hosting John Carroll and St. Francis (PA) in the 2020 spring home opener.
-The Vikings were last in action on Monday, January 20, when they picked up a 4-3 victory at Western Michigan to mark the first win over the Broncos in program history.
-After helping the Vikings earn the crucial doubles point at WMU, Cleveland State's No. 1 doubles team of Klara Mrcela and Lara Prosenjak was named the Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week.

Indoor Track & Field
-The Vikings will be idle this week, returning to action at the Akron Invitational on Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8.
-CSU was in action at the Spire Invitational last weekend, recording nine top-five individual and relay finishes.
-Freshman Azsah Bradley posted Cleveland State's top finish on the day with a second place showing in the 60 Meter Dash (7.74), while Kamryn Sharer posted a program record mark of 11.65 to finish sixth in the Shot Put.

Viking Of The Week
Ben Smith, Wrestling
Smith went 2-0 as the Vikings began a road trip against a pair of MAC foes. In CSU's opening match at SIU Edwardsville, the Vikings held a tenuous 15-11 lead as Smith competed in the penultimate bout of the dual at 197 pounds. Just two minutes into the bout, Smith secured a pin to effectively clinch the team victory for the Vikings, their seventh of the season. In CSU's second matchup at nationally ranked Missouri, Smith defeated his Missouri opponent with a takedown in the sudden-victory session. His win against the Tigers was his 21st of the season and came against an opponent listed in the top-25 of the national rankings.
