Men's Basketball
-Cleveland State (5-10, 1-1) will open the New Year at home this weekend, hosting Youngstown State at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4.
-Last time out, the Vikings opened Horizon League play on the road, splitting their contests at UIC (L, 71-66) and IUPUI (W, 82-80).
-Against IUPUI, the Vikings shot 53.4 percent from the floor and had a .538 clip from behind-the-arc, while sophomore Tre Gomillion had a putback tip-in at the buzzer to give the Vikings the victory.
-Through the first two #HLMBB games, Torrey Patton is averaging a team-best 18.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. 

Women's Basketball
-The Vikings (11-2, 1-1) will hit the road for the first time during #HLWBB play this week, traveling to Wright State on Thursday, January 2 and Northern Kentucky on Saturday, January 4.
-Last time out, Cleveland State picked up an 84-44 victory over UIC in the Horizon League opener to stretch its record setting winstreak to 11 straight games, before falling to IUPUI in the weekend finale.
-In league games only, Mariah White is averaging a team-best 17.5 points per game, while Savanna Crockett is averaging 9.0 rebounds per game.

Wrestling
-Cleveland State will compete at the prestigious Southern Scuffle this week, as the two-day event begins on New Year's Day.
-Twenty-eight schools are sending teams to the event, including eight that finished among the top 25 at last year's NCAA Championships.
-Cleveland State, which is off to a 4-0 start for the first time in 16 years, was most recently in action December 21 when it claimed a 22-14 victory over George Mason.

Viking of the Week
Torrey Patton, Men's Basketball
The junior averaged 18.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game as the Vikings split their first weekend of Horizon League play. Patton shot 57.7 percent from the floor in the two games, posting a career-high 22 points at UIC and 14 points at IUPUI. Against the Jaguars, Patton also recorded seven rebounds and four steals, and was instrumental in the Vikings' first win in league play.
