Gates, Kielsmeier Host Meet and Greet

CLEVELAND – The Cleveland State department of athletics will hold a meet and greet with first year head men's basketball coach Dennis Gates and women's basketball head coach Chris Kielsmeier on Monday (Oct. 21) from 7-8 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings on 724 Prospect Avenue in downtown Cleveland.

Fans will have the opportunity to engage with both Gates and Kielsmeier to discuss the upcoming basketball seasons for each program. Buffalo Wild Wings will also serve as the home of the Dennis Gates Coaches Show during the course of the basketball season.

Gates, and the Vikings, will open the season with an exhibition game against Notre Dame (Ohio) at 7 p.m. on Oct. 30 in the Wolstein Center.

Cleveland State will open the regular season at Minnesota on Nov. 5 and then host Edinboro on Nov. 9 at 3:30 p.m. in the Wolstein Center in the Vikings home opener.

The Vikings will celebrate the regular season home opener against Edinboro with Fan Appreciation Day and fans will be admitted free of charge to the game. Tickets will be available while supplies last and must be claimed in advance online. All seats will be general admission, but season ticket holder seats will be reserved.

The Cleveland State women's program enters its second season under the direction of Kielsmeier. The Vikings return four starters, including Horizon League Freshman of the Year Savanna Crockett, from last season and will open the 2019-20 campaign with an exhibition contest against Ursuline on Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. in the Wolstein Center.

The Vikings will open the regular season on Nov. 6 at Bowling Green before facing Davis & Elkins on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. in the regular season home opener.
