A look at what's happening in Cleveland State Athletics…

Women's Soccer
-The Vikings (3-4-2, 1-0-0) will return home to continue Horizon League play this weekend, hosting Milwaukee on Saturday, September 28 in a rematch of last year's #HLWSOC Championship Match.
-Last time out, Cleveland State opened league play with a 3-0 victory at Green Bay.
-Freshman McKenna Donahue became the 20th player in program history to score two goals in a single match, while junior Grace Grant added the third goal for the Vikings.

Men's Soccer
-Cleveland State (2-2-1, 1-1-0) closes out the month this Saturday, September 28, as it hosts Milwaukee at 7:00 p.m.
-The Vikings came from behind to post a 2-1 win in overtime over Northern Kentucky this past weekend, with the golden goal coming from Gabriel Pewu in the 100th minute.
-CSU had dropped a 1-0 decision at Bowling Green earlier last week.

Volleyball
-Cleveland State (4-7) will begin Horizon League play this week, traveling to IUPUI (Friday, September 27) and Northern Kentucky (Saturday, September 28).
-The Vikings capped off a challenging non-league schedule with a pair of 3-0 victories over Niagara and Kent State last time out, improving to 44-8 when playing in Woodling Gymnasium over the last five seasons. 
-Sophomore Christina Grecol enters #HLVB play ranked second among league players averaging 10.08 assists per set, and currently ranks 10th in the CSU Career Record Book with 1,494 career helpers.

Cross Country
-Following a three-week break from competition, the Vikings will return to the course this weekend, taking part in the All-Ohio Championship on Saturday, September 28.
-Through the first two races of the season, junior Anna Brandt has been Cleveland State's top finisher, including a season-best 5K time of 18:12 to finish fourth at the Tommy Evans Invitational.

Women's Tennis
-The Vikings will begin their 2019 fall campaign this week, traveling to Cancun, Mexico for the Iberostar College Cup Wednesday, September 25 through Friday, September 27.
-Cleveland State returns seven letterwinners from last year's squad that appeared in the Horizon League Championship match, and will be under the direction of second-year head coach Frank Polito.

Men's Tennis
-Senior Nico Mostardi will continue his fall campaign at the Oracle ITA Masters this weekend, earning his second straight appearance in the prestigious event by virtue of being named Horizon League Player of the Year.
-Last time out, the Vikings opened the 2019-20 season at the Notre Dame Invite, as Matthew Terry was named the tournament MVP after going 4-0 in singles action, while Nico Mostardi & Luke Phillips were named to the All-Tournament Team.
-Mostardi and Phillips both went 3-1 on the weekend, Mostardi moving into a tie for seventh place on the CSU Singles Wins List with 73 career victories, and Phillips earning his 50th career singles win.

Women's Golf
-Cleveland State returns to action at the Phoenix Invitational hosted by Elon this week, participating in the 54-hole event on Monday, September 23 and Tuesday, September 24.
-Last time out, the Vikings placed ninth in the team standings at the Cardinal Classic, led by Ashley Knight who finished in a tie for 12th after shooting 74-80-74.
-Grace Zimmerman shot a career-bet round of 73 in the final round and finished tied for 24th overall.

Men's Golf
-The Vikings will be competing in the River Run Challenge hosted by Davidson this week, taking part in the 54-hole event on Monday, September 23 and Tuesday, September 24.
-Last time out, Cleveland State finished eighth at the Eastern Kentucky Intercollegiate, led by junior Zach Robbins who finished third overall with a 54-hole score of 209.

Fencing
-Cleveland State will head to the OSU Fall Open this Sunday, September 29, at Ohio State.

Viking Of The Week
McKenna Donahue, Women's Soccer
The freshman led the Vikings to a 3-0 victory at Green Bay in the #HLWSOC opener, becoming the 20th Viking all-time to record two goals in a single match. Her game-winning goal came at the 23:09 mark of the first half, while her second goal came less than 10 minutes later. The two goals marked the first of her collegiate career.
