A look at what's happening in Cleveland State Athletics...

Men's Soccer
- Cleveland State (1-5-1, 0-2-1) returns home this Saturday, September 29, to host defending League tournament champion UIC at 7:00 p.m.
- The Vikings picked up their first win of the season this past week with a 2-0 triumph over Bowling Green before dropping a 4-1 decision at nationally ranked Wright State over the weekend.
- Gabriel Pewu scored both goals in the victory over the Falcons while Noah Pio assisted on both tallies.

Women's Soccer
- The Vikings (5-4-1, 1-0-1) will split their time at home and on the road this week, traveling to Youngstown State for a midweek match on Wednesday, September 26 before hosting UIC on Saturday, September 29.
- Last time out, Cleveland State earned a 1-1 draw at Oakland, with Ja'Maya Ward notching the game-tying goal in the 71st minute for her third goal of the season.
- Entering the third week of league play, Cleveland State ranks fourth in the league standings, just two points out of first place.

Volleyball
- Cleveland State (8-6, 2-0) will return home for a pair of Horizon League matches this weekend, hosting Northern Kentucky on Friday, September 28 and Wright State on Saturday, September 29.
- Entering this weekend's matches, Cleveland State and Northern Kentucky are tied at the top of the league standings with perfect 2-0 records in #HLVB play.
- Last time out, the Vikings opened league play with a pair of 3-0 sweeps over Youngstown State and Oakland, marking the fourth time that Cleveland State has gone 2-0 to start #HLVB play under head coach Chuck Voss.

Cross Country
- The Vikings will return to action this weekend, competing at the All-Ohio Championship on Saturday, September 29 in Norton, Ohio. The women's championship 6K race will start at 2:00 p.m., while the women's open 6K race will begin at 3:30 p.m.
- Cleveland State was last in action at the Tommy Evans Invitational on September 8, finishing fifth as a team, while Anna Brandt placed third individually with a personal-best 5K time of 18:19.

Women's Golf
- Cleveland State will take part in its third fall tournament Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 24-25) as one of five Horizon League teams to compete at the Golden Grizzlies Invitational.
- The Vikings shot a final-round 300 last time out at the Cardinal Classic to finish eighth of 16 teams in the 54-hole event.
- Sophomore Madison Butler has shot two even-par rounds in the early going and leads CSU with a 74.0 scoring average.

Men's Tennis
- The Vikings will continue their fall season this weekend splitting time at the ITA All-American Championship (Saturday, September 29-Sunday, September 30) and Rocket Invitational (Friday, September 28-Sunday, September 30).
- Nico Mostardi and Matthew Terry will be competing in the Pre-Qualifying Draw of the ITA All-American Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma, while the rest of the Vikings will be competing at the three-day Rocket Invitational.
- Last weekend, Nico Mostardi participated in the Oracle ITA Masters, while Luke Phillips and Matthew Terry competed at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic. Terry finished the weekend with a team-best 3-1 singles record.

Women's Tennis
- Cleveland State will have the weekend off from competition, returning to action at the third annual Viking Invitational Friday, October 5 - Sunday, October 7.
- Last time out, the Vikings participated in the Akron Shootout, playing three rounds of singles and three rounds of doubles.
- Gaby Schoenberg posted a perfect 3-0 singles record on the weekend, while newcomer Kateryna Avram finished with a 2-1 singles mark.

Men's & Women's Fencing
- Cleveland State will resume action this weekend at Ohio State.
- The Vikings will contest the OSU Open Saturday, September 29, before competing in team competition for the first time this season with the OSU Duals Sunday, September 30.

Men's Swimming & Diving
- Cleveland State opens its season this Friday as it welcomes four teams for the Viking Relay Challenge inside Busbey Natatorium.
- The Vikings finished in second place at the HL Championships last year with 665.5 points, their highest point total at the meet in five years.

Women's Swimming & Diving
- Cleveland State opens its season this Friday as it welcomes five teams for the Viking Relay Challenge inside Busbey Natatorium.
- The Vikings finished in third place at the HL Championships last year with 586 points, their highest point total at the meet in five years.

Viking of the Week

Trinniti Hall, Volleyball
The junior averaged 4.17 kills per set on a .426 hitting percentage last weekend, helping Cleveland State post back-to-back 3-0 sweeps over Youngstown State and Oakland to begin Horizon League play. Hall recorded nine kills against YSU, and followed that up with 16 kills and eight blocks against Oakland.
