A look at what's happening in Cleveland State Athletics...

Men's Soccer
- Cleveland State plays its non-conference home finale Tuesday, September 18, against Bowling Green before resuming Horizon League action at Wright State Saturday, Sept. 22.
- The Vikings came from behind to earn a 1-1 tie at Milwaukee this past weekend on the strength of a Gabriel Pewu goal with 15 minutes left in regulation.
- CSU had a 21-10 advantage in shots in the match, the fourth time in five matches it has led its opponent in shots.

Women's Soccer
- The Vikings (5-4, 1-0) will hit the road for the first time during Horizon League play this weekend, traveling to Oakland for a 7:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, September 22.
- Last time out, Cleveland State picked up a 3-1 victory against IUPUI, marking just the fourth time that the Vikings have posted a victory in their league opener.
- Senior McKenna Vento scored two of Cleveland State's three goals, while Sarah Krause recorded two assists and Ja'Maya Ward recorded the third goal.
- Entering the week, McKenna Vento leads the league with four total goals this season, while Dani Sowinski also leads the league with six assists.

Volleyball
- Cleveland State (6-6) will begin Horizon League play this weekend, hosting Youngstown State at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 21 and traveling to Oakland for a 2:00 p.m. contest on Sunday, September 23. 
- The Vikings enter #HLVB play as the three-time defending champion, and own a 40-8 record against league opponents in regular season matches over the last three seasons.
- Cleveland State finished non-league play at the Bulldog Brawl last time out, finishing with a 2-1 record on the weekend. Emily DeGeorge was named the Tournament MVP, while Christina Grecol earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Men's Golf
- Cleveland State will return to action on the first two days of October at the Firestone Intercollegiate in Akron.
- The Vikings finished in ninth place of 15 teams this past weekend at the EKU Intercollegiate, with a 54-hole score of 872 (285-289-298).
- Sophomore Zach Robbins fired a career-low 68 in the opening round and finished the tournament at +4 (214), his best 54-hole score as a collegian.

Women's Golf
- Cleveland State will play its first 54-hole event of the season Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 17-18) at the Cardinal Classic hosted by Ball State.
- CSU shot 301-299 to finish in third place at the season-opening Roseann Schwartz Invitational, with the scores representing two of the best six rounds in program history.

Men's Tennis
- Cleveland State will begin the 2018 fall season this weekend, with three Vikings in action - Nico Mostardi, Matthew Terry and Luke Phillips.
- Nico Mostardi will be competing at the Oracle ITA Masters, while Matthew Terry and Luke Phillips will participate at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic.
- Mostardi, Terry and Phillips are three of six returning letterwinners for the Vikings who are under the direction of 17-year head coach Brian Etzkin.

Women's Tennis
- The Vikings will participate in the first of five fall tournaments this weekend, making the short trip south for the Akron Shootout. 
- Cleveland State returns three letterwinners from last season and welcomes five newcomers for the 2018-19 campaign, and will be under the direction of first year head coach Frank Polito.
- Joining the Vikings at the Akron Shootout will be Louisville, Youngstown State and the host Zips.

Viking of the Week

McKenna Vento, Women's Soccer
The senior recorded two goals in Cleveland State's 3-1 victory over IUPUI in the Horizon League opener, helping the team to a 1-0 start in #HLWSOC play. Vento now leads the league with a team-best four goals this season, while she is also tied for seventh in the CSU Career Record Book with 10 career goals.
