A look at what's happening in Cleveland State Athletics...

Men’s Soccer
- Cleveland State (0-1) closes its season-opening road trip Monday at Loyola (Ill.) before hosting its home opener this Friday, August 31, against Cincinnati at 7:00 p.m.
- The Vikings outshot host Northwestern in their season opener this past Friday but came up on the short end of a 3-0 decision. 

Women’s Soccer
- The Vikings (2-2) will return to the road this weekend, traveling to Wilmington, N.C. for the UNCW Soccer Invitational. Cleveland State will face Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday, August 31 and will then take on UNC Wilmington on Sunday, September 2.
- Last time out, the Vikings dropped a pair of 2-0 contests against Niagara and Kent State to even their record at 2-2 on the year.

Volleyball
- Cleveland State (3-0) will hit the road for the first time during 2018 this weekend, traveling north for the Michigan Invitational. The Vikings will take on Michigan (Friday, August 31), Harvard (Saturday, September 1) and Eastern Michigan (Saturday, September 1) during the two-day tournament.
- Last time out, the Vikings opened the season with a 3-0 start and captured the CSU Invitational Title. Cleveland State picked up wins against Binghamton (3-1), Montana State (3-0) and Canisius (3-0).
- Trinniti Hall was named the CSU Invitational Tournament MVP, while Rachael Dohar and Hannah Greene were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Cross Country
- The Vikings will open the 2018 campaign this weekend, participating in the Duquesne Duals on Saturday, September 1.
- Cleveland State will be under the direction of first-year head coach Jason Hudson, and returns eight letterwinners from last season’s squad including the reigning Horizon League Freshman of the Year in Anna Brandt.

Men’s Golf
- Cleveland State, fresh off its fifth consecutive Horizon League championship, will open its 2018-19 campaign at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate, which begins Sunday, September 2.
- The Vikings will by led by two-time All-League selection Anton Krecic while senior Nick Infanti returns after a top-15 showing at the League Tournament last season.

Women’s Golf
- Cleveland State will open the season Monday, September 3, with the two-day Roseann Schwartz Invitational hosted by Youngstown State in Boardman, Ohio.
- Mitchell Moore was named head coach of the team this past summer and returns All-League honorees Kaylee Neumeister and Madison Butler.
- Butler won the Roseann Schwartz Invitational last season in her first collegiate tournament with rounds of 72-77.

Fencing
- Cleveland State opens its season this Saturday, September 1, as it hosts the CSU Fall Open in Woodling Gym, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

 

Viking of the Week
Trinniti Hall, Volleyball
Hall was named the CSU Invitational Tournament MVP after recording a team-high 31 kills as Cleveland State went 3-0 on the weekend to claim the CSU Invitational Tournament Title. Hall averaged 3.10 kills per set during the tournament, including double-digit kill performances against Binghamton (10) and Canisius (12).
