CLEVELAND, Ohio - After helping lead Cleveland State to the Shawnee State Invitational team title, Viking junior Allison Craine has been selected as the Horizon League Cross Country Co-Athlete of the Week.

The league office made the announcement on Monday (Oct. 11) afternoon.

Craine shares the honor with Detroit's Alexandria Vintevoghel.

"This is a well-deserved honor for Allison and one that she has worked very hard to achieve," head coach Joe Jaketic said. "Allison has played a large part of our success this season and her hard work has helped her teammates also work harder."

Craine earned the honor after placing fifth at the Shawnee State Invitational on Friday (Oct. 8), completing the 5K course in 19:41. She was one of four Vikings to place in the top-10, helping CSU claim the team title in the 13 team field with 41 points.

The award is the second for Craine in her career. She also earned Horizon League Athlete of the Week honors on Sept. 25, 2007.

CSU will be back in action when the Vikings conclude their regular season by competing in the Falcon Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 16) at 10:45 a.m. at Forrest Creason G.C. in Bowling Green, Ohio.
