Cross Country Concludes 2018 Season At NCAA Regional

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Cleveland State cross country team wrapped up the 2018 season Friday, competing at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.

COMPLETE INDIVIDUAL RESULTS

The Vikings were paced by sophomore Anna Brandt who finished the 6K course in a time of 22:13 to place 83rd overall.

"This was a great step forward for our program today, we finished in the same place as we did last year, but with more teams competing. This meet is an important step for the development of this team, and we need to get used to competing with this caliber of runner since that is the direction we are headed as a team," head coach Jason Hudson said. "We are young, but will continue to get better year after year. We had so many highlights throughout the season, that we have a lot to take with us heading into the offseason and into next year."

Jessica Finley and Kylie Scott rounded out Cleveland State's top-three, Finley finishing in a time of 23:00 and Scott crossing the finish line in 24:10.

The Cleveland State trio of Lily Michael, Heather McArdle and Graicen Riley were the next Vikings to finish, all crossing the finish line within three seconds of each other. Michael finished the 6K course in 24:54, while McArdle and Riley both crossed the finish line in 24:57.

Olivia Hammons also represented Cleveland State Friday, finishing the 6K course in 25:30.

Friday's race marked the sixth and final race of the 2018 campaign - the first under the direction of head coach Jason Hudson.
