Detroit Titan Invitational Up Next For Cross Country

CLEVELAND, Ohio – After opening the 2016 season last weekend, the Cleveland State cross country team will continue its slate this Saturday, taking part in the Running Fit-Detroit Titan Cross Country Invitational. The women's 5K race is slated for an 11:15 a.m. start at Cass Benton Park in Northville, Michigan.

Last time out the Vikings had a strong opening meet at the Duquesne Duals, paced by newcomer Karen Barrientos. Barrientos finished 18th overall with a time of 19:27, while Ashlyn Woods (39th – 20:19) and Olivia Hammons (41st – 20:22) rounded out Cleveland State's top-three finishers.

Barrientos' time of 19:27 earned a spot on the top-50 5K performance list at Cleveland State, coming in as the 46th fastest 5K time in program history.

ALL-TIME TOP PERFORMANCES

The Vikings had a quartet of true freshmen running at the Duquesne Duals, as Anna Beasley, Jessica Finley and Andrea Wardeiner joined Hammons in their first collegiate race.
