CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State had five student-athletes selected to the 2012 Fall Academic All-League teams that were announced earlier this month.
Earning honors for CSU were men's soccer players Admir Suljevic and Brad Stuver, women's soccer player Jaime Avona, cross country runner Katie Webb and volleyball player Kara Koch.
CSU's five honorees were tied for the fifth most by a league school. Valparaiso had the most with 10 and was followed by Loyola with eight and Green Bay and Wright State with seven each. CSU, Detroit and Milwaukee had five selections apiece, while Youngstown State and UIC both had two.
Suljevic and Stuver helped the Vikings to the Horizon League Championship and CSU's first berth to the NCAA Championship since 1980.
A first team All-Horizon League selection, Suljevic led the Vikings with 14 points, recording team-highs in goals (5) and assists (4). Stuver, a second team All-Horizon League honoree, played every minute in goal this year, posting 81 saves and an 0.86 goals against average.
Both players were named to the Horizon League All-Tournament team with Stuver earning MVP honors.
Suljevic carries a 3.40 grade point average as a physical eduction major, while Stuver sports a 3.22 GPA as a biology major.
A second team All-Horizon League selection, Avona was a mainstay in the CSU midfield during her four-year career. A captain this year, she ranked second on the team with 12 points, tying for the team-lead with five goals and adding two assists.

In a win at IUPUI in August, Avona became just the second player in school-history to record a hat trick, scoring three goals in CSU's 5-1 win.
She has a 3.89 GPA as a speech and hearing major.
Webb, who carries a 4.00 GPA as an early childhood eduction major, continued to improve her times throughout the season. She ran her first-ever sub-20 minute time in a 5K when she finished 14th at the Otterbein Invitational with a time of 19:53.
Koch, who was the Horizon League Player of the Year and MVP of the league tournament, wrapped up her career as one of the top offensive players in program history and helped lead CSU to the league championship and a bid to the NCAA tournament.
A first team AVCA All-Region and Honorable Mention All-America selection, Koch ended the regular season averaging a league-best 4.71 kills per set, while she also ranked seventh nationally in the category. This year Koch became the fifth Viking to record both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs, ending her time as a Viking with 1,576 kills and 1,047 digs.
She has a 3.43 GPA as an accounting major.
