Walker Named #HLVB Player Of The Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After helping Cleveland State to a pair of victories over Green Bay & Milwaukee last weekend, sophomore libero Emma Walker has been named a Horizon League Player of the Week.  

Last time out, Walker and the Vikings notched a 3-0 victory against Green Bay and a 3-1 win against Milwaukee, improving their spot in the #HLVB standings heading into the final week of regular season play. 

In the two matches last weekend, Walker averaged 5.86 digs per set, leading a CSU defense that held Green Bay and Milwaukee to a combined .123 hitting percentage. 

Walker combined for 41 digs in the two matches, finishing with 17 against Green Bay and recording 24 against Milwaukee – marking her fourth 20-dig performance of the season. 

So far this year, Walker is averaging 2.99 digs per set, and ranks second on the team with 320 total digs. In addition, Walker has also notched 23 service aces this year.

Walker and the Vikings will close out the regular season this weekend, traveling to IUPUI on Friday, November 11 and Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday, November 12.
