The Vikings had one of their best offensive outputs of the season Friday, posting a .406 hitting percentage as a team, led by Trinniti Hall who finished with 14 kills. Hannah Greene and Emily DeGeorge both finished with nine kills, while London Portis added six.

Christina Grecol finished with 36 assists on the match to lead the offense, which put her over the 1,900-assist mark for her career. Grecol finished the match with 1,921 career assists, and now needs just 21 more helpers to move into eighth place in the CSU Career Record Book.

Defensively, the trio of Lindsey Tout, Trinniti Hall and Emily DeGeorge all finished with double-digit digs, helping to hold YSU to a .099 hitting percentage. Tout recorded a team-high 13 digs, while Hall posted 11 and DeGeorge notched 10.

Chelsea Penfield once again led Cleveland State's blocking efforts, finishing with four total blocks on the night, while Greene and Hall both added two blocks each.

During the opening set, the Vikings were able to jump out to a 10-3 lead following four straight kills from Grecol, Hall and Greene. Cleveland State was able to hold a sizeable advantage for the remainder of the frame then, picking up the 25-10 first set victory on a DeGeorge kill.

The second set was much of the same, as the Vikings earned an early 11-6 advantage following back-to-back kills from Hall and Grecol, and then went on to claim the 25-13 second set victory on a Penfield kill.

The third frame was much closer throughout the first part of the set, until four straight points from the Vikings put them up 19-13 following a Hall and Penfield block. Cleveland State then controlled play throughout the rest of the set, posting the 25-17 victory to claim the 3-0 sweep of the Penguins.

Cleveland State's sweep over YSU snapped a six-match losing skid, and put the Vikings at 1-0 for the month of November.
