Vikings Fall At UIC, 3-2

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Cleveland State volleyball team dropped its second straight five-set match Saturday, as the Vikings fell at UIC, 3-2. Cleveland State now stands at 12-8 overall this season and 6-2 in Horizon League action.

Four Vikings finished the match with double-digit kills Saturday, led by Sara Skeens with 14 total kills. Trinniti Hall added 12 kills, while Rachel Stover notched 11 and Emily DeGeorge chipped in 10.

Christina Grecol and Katie Jorn split setting duties on the match, both finishing with 24 assists on the day.

Rachael Dohar finished with a team-best 18 digs, while DeGeorge tallied 11 digs for her fifth double-double of the year.

As a team, the Vikings notched 12.0 total blocks, with seven from Hall and five from Hannah Greene.

After dropping the first two sets, Cleveland State was able to battle back during the third and fourth frames picking up 26-24 and 25-21 victories to even the match at 2-2.

The Vikings got behind early during the fifth and deciding set then, and had to play from behind for the remainder of the frame. After working their way back into the contest during the third and fourth frames, Cleveland State came up just short in the fifth set, dropping a 15-7 decision in the final frame.
