Volleyball Stays Perfect In #HLVB Play, Picks Up 3-1 Victory Over Wright State

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team won its fourth straight match and remained perfect in Horizon League play Saturday, earning a 3-1 victory against Wright State. The Vikings are now 10-6 overall this season and 4-0 in #HLVB play.

Sara Skeens and Trinniti Hall led the Viking offense, Skeens with 12 kills and Hall with 11, while Hannah Greene finished with nine kills. Christina Grecol started the match for the Vikings recording 15 assists, while Katie Jorn played the second half of the contest recording 19 helpers.

Rachael Dohar tallied a team-best 20 digs against Wright State, marking her second straight 20+ dig match, and her seventh of the year. Jordan Verbiak added 15 digs for the Vikings, while Emily DeGeorge tallied 12.

As a team, the Vikings finished with 12 total blocks on the match, including seven from Greene and Rachel Stover.

After dropping the first set, the Vikings responded with convincing wins in the next three sets, picking up the 3-1 match victory to stay unbeaten in league play.

During all three sets that the Vikings won, they were able to gain a sizeable advantage midway through the frame, and then went on to control play for the remainder of the set, cruising to their sixth win out of the last seven matches.
