LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association released its AVCA Team Academic Award honorees for the 2017-18 season this week, with the Cleveland State volleyball team earning a spot on the list for the sixth time under head coach Chuck Voss.

COMPLETE LIST OF AVCA TEAM ACADEMIC HONOREES

During the 2017-18 academic year, the Vikings posted a team GPA of 3.348 while capturing their fifth Horizon League Regular Season and Tournament title.

Individually, nine Vikings were named to the Cleveland State Dean's List during both the fall and spring semesters last year, including Shannon Grega who earned a spot on the Horizon League Volleyball All-Academic Team.

Along with Grega, seven other Vikings also earned Horizon League recognition for academics - earning a spot on the Horizon League Honor Roll during the year.

The AVCA Team Academic Award honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team GPA.

Cleveland State was one of 163 Division I teams honored following the 2017-18 academic year, and one of six Horizon League teams.
