Track & Field Continues Indoor Season At Doug Raymond Invite

KENT, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team continued the 2021-22 indoor campaign this weekend, participating in the Doug Raymond Invite hosted by Kent State.

"Each week we keep getting better and better, and keep getting closer as a team, which is helping us when it comes to competition," head coach Jason Hudson said. "It's been a hard training cycle, and taking a week off from competition this week will help get everyone ready for the Horizon League Championships in a couple weeks."

Margaret Smith posted Cleveland State's top finish of the weekend, as she placed 17th overall with a time of 2:23.69 in the 800 Meter Run.

Dynesty Ervin paced the Vikings in the 200 Meter Dash, finishing 24th with a time of 26.08, while Ariana Coats recorded a 28th place finish in the Mile Run after finishing in a time of 5:38. 36.

The Vikings also had representatives in the 60 Meter Dash and Shot Put at the Doug Raymond Invite.

This marked the final tune-up before the 2022 Horizon League Indoor Championships, which will be hosted Saturday, February 26 and Sunday, February 27 in Youngstown, Ohio.
