Vikings Ready For #HLTF Indoor Championship

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team will close out the indoor campaign this weekend, participating in the 2021 #HLTF Indoor Championship. This year's meet will be hosted by Purdue Fort Wayne and will run from Friday, February 26 through Monday, March 1.

Entering this weekend's #HLTF Championship, four Vikings have posted marks that rank among the top-10 in the Horizon League so far this season: Tylar Mixon (60, 200), Margaret Smith (800), Kaelin Stahl (Pole Vault), and Kamryn Sharer (Shot Put).

Through the first five meets of the indoor season the Vikings have notched 15 top-five finishes, including a first place showing from Dynesty Ervin in the 60 Meter Dash at the Mastodon Invitational 2. 

So far this season, the Vikings have notched five marks that rank in the top-five in the CSU Record Book, with all five coming from Kaelin Stahl and Kamryn Sharer in the Pole Vault and Shot Put events.

This weekend's meet marks the sixth of the 2021 indoor season for the Vikings, and the third time that they will be competing at the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse on the Purdue Fort Wayne campus, after participating in the Mastodon Invitational and Mastodon Invitational 2 earlier this year.  

Last season, the Vikings were able to post seven podium finishes at the league meet, while three individuals and the 4x400 Relay earned All-Horizon League honors.
