Track & Field Competes At Hillsdale Tune-Up

HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Cleveland State track and field team competed in its final tune-up before the Horizon League Indoor Championships Saturday, as the Vikings recorded five top-five finishes at the Hillsdale Tune-Up. 

Cleveland State's best individual finish came from Kaelin Stahl in the Pole Vault, as she finished third overall with a mark of 3.36. Stahl's mark of 3.36 ranks second in the CSU Record Book, while it is also the second-best mark of her career.

Kamryn Sharer also recorded a top-five finish in field events on Saturday, as she placed fourth with a mark of 12.25 in the Shot Put.

Tylar Mixon recorded the final two top-five individual finishes for the Vikings, as she placed fourth in the 60 Meter Dash and fifth in the 200 Meter Dash. Mixon posted a season-best time of 7.92 in the 60 Meter Dash finals, while she also posted a team-best 26.39 in the 200.

Lauren Zawie was just shy of notching a top-five finish for the Vikings at the Hillsdale Tune-Up, placing sixth in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 1:04.17.

Cleveland State also participated in the 4x400 Meter Relay, with the quartet of Deanna Swinerton, Kayla Zdanowicz, Shannon Wargo, and Deja Emmanus placing third with a time of 4:32.80.

Next up for the Vikings will be the 2021 Horizon League Indoor Championships, which will be hosted by Purdue Fort Wayne February 26 through March 1.
