Vikings Compete At Jesse Owens Relays

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team participated in its final tune-up before the upcoming Horizon League Championship this weekend, competing in the Jesse Owens Relays at Ohio State University.

Sprints
Cleveland State's lone record of the weekend came in the 200 Meter Dash, as Tylar Mixon finished 18th in a program record time of 25.04. Monica Johnson and Mijah Collier ran in the 100 Meter Hurdles, Johnson crossing the finish line in a time of 14.77 and Collier finishing in 15.88. Collier also ran in the 400 Meter Hurdles, placing 22nd overall with a time of 1:08.90.

Relays
Cleveland State participated in two relays, finishing fifth in the 4x100 Meter Relay and seventh in the 4x400 Meter Relay. The quartet of Tylar Mixon, Mijah Collier, Monica Johnson, and Hannah Gaskins recorded a time of 48.84 in the 4x100, while Anna Brandt, Mixon, Collier, and Gaskins posted a time of 4:07.13 in the 4x400.

Field
In field events, Cleveland State's top finish came in the High Jump, as Hannah Gaskins placed ninth with a mark of 1.60 – tying the third-best mark in program history. In the Javelin, Julianne Dorothal placed 13th with a mark of 29.81.
