Track & Field Competes At Doug Raymond Invitational

KENT, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team participated in its final tune-up before the upcoming Horizon League Championships Saturday, competing at the Doug Raymond Invitational hosted by Kent State.

Sprints
Cleveland State's top performance in the sprint events came from Monica Johnson in the 60 Meter Hurdle prelims, as she posted a program record time of 8.93 – the first Viking to break nine seconds in the event.

Mijah Collier had Cleveland State's best finish in the 400 Meter Dash, as she placed 25th overall with a time of 59.87. Collier's time is the second fastest time in program history, while she also became just the second Viking all-time to post a sub one-minute time in the event.

Distance
Cleveland State's best individual finish came in the 800 Meter Run, as Anna Brandt placed sixth with a time of 2:15.86. Brandt's time marked the second fastest time in program history, while it also put Brandt in possession of all top-five times in the CSU Record Book in the event.

The Vikings also participated in the Mile Run, with Jessica Finley posting Cleveland State's top time of 5:27.20 to finish 33rd overall.

Field
Cleveland State was represented in the High Jump and Long Jump events Saturday, with Hannah Gaskins finishing 16th in the high jump with a mark of 1.58 and Julianne Dorothal placing 40th in the long jump with a mark of 4.57.

Relays
The top Cleveland State 4x400 relay team placed ninth overall with a program record time of 3:58.66, marking the first time that the Vikings have posted a sub four-minute time in the event. This mark was set by the quartet of Anna Brandt, Tylar Mixon, Mijah Collier, and Hannah Gaskins, and ranks second among Horizon League teams this season.
