Vikings Record Four Top-10 Performances At YSU Collegiate Invitational

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team continued its indoor season Friday, recording four top-10 performances at the YSU Collegiate Invitational.

Sprints
Two Vikings qualified for the finals in the 60 Meter Hurdles, with Monica Johnson and Mijah Collier both earning a spot in the final heat. Johnson finished sixth with a time of 9.18, while Collier placed seventh in 9.25.

In the 400 Meter Dash, Tylar Mixon posted a season-best time for the Vikings, crossing the finish line in 1:01.54, while Caprece Conrad finished with a time of 1:04.49. Both of these times marked career-bests for Mixon and Conrad.

Middle Distance
Cleveland State's best finish in the mid-distance events came in the 500 Meter Run, with Anna Brandt placing seventh in a time of 1:19.11. Mijah Collier also posted a top-15 finish, placing 14th in 1:23.50. This marked the first time that the Vikings were competing in the 500 Meter Run.

Deja Emmanus was the top Viking in the 800 Meter Run, crossing the finish line in a career-best time of 2:24.16, while Lily Michael posted a time of 2:29.53 to also break the 2:30 mark.

Distance
Cleveland State's best finish on the day came in the Mile Run, as Anna Brandt finished second with a time of 5:00.74. Brandt's time was just shy of breaking her CSU record (5:00.24) that she set earlier this season in the event.

Field
Cleveland State's lone field event was the Long Jump, with Hannah Gaskins (4.89) and Julianne Dorothal (4.86) both recording season-best marks. Gaskins' jump of 4.89 also marked a career-high for the sophomore.
