Mixon, Johnson & Brandt Record Program Records At Marshall Women’s Classic

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – The Cleveland State track and field team returned to action Saturday, competing at the Marshall Women's Classic, finishing with three program records in the 60 Meter Hurdles, 200 Meter Dash and 800 Meter Run.

Sprints
The Vikings had a strong showing in the sprint events at the Marshall Women's Classic, with Monica Johnson and Tylar Mixon recording program records in the 60 Meter Hurdles and 200 Meter Dash, respectively. Johnson posted a CSU record time of 9.09 in the 60 Meter Hurdle prelims, earning a spot in the finals, where she placed sixth overall.

In the 200 Meter Dash, Mixon placed sixth overall with a time of 25.95, posting a program record by one-hundredth of a second.

The Vikings also competed in the 60 Meter Dash, with Mixon earning a spot in the finals where she posted a season-best time of 7.94 to finish fifth, and the 400 Meter Dash with Deja Emmanus leading the team with an 11th place finish (1:02.91)

Distance
Anna Brandt set a program record in the 800 Meter Run Saturday, placing third overall with a time of 2:14.75. Brandt bettered her personal-best from last season and recorded her second top-three finish in the event this year.

The Vikings were also represented in the Mile and 3000 Meter Run, with Jessica Finley leading the Vikings in the mile (17th – 5:28.05) and Abbey Rojeck marking Cleveland State's best finish in the 3000 meter run (23rd – 11:23.68).

Relays
Cleveland State's best performance in the 4x400 Relay came from the quartet of Tylar Mixon, Hannah Gaskins, Anna Brandt, and Lauren Zawie, who posted a season-best time of 4:10.13 to finish seventh.

Field
The Vikings recorded their best finish of the day in the High Jump, as Hannah Gaskins finished second with a mark of 1.62, marking a season-high for the Vikings. Julianne Dorothal also posted a top-five finish in the High Jump, placing fifth with a mark of 1.52.

The duo also competed in the Shot Put, with Dorothal placing 10th (10.52) and Gaskins finishing 12th (9.55).
