Vikings Have Strong Showing At BGSU Opener

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team opened up the indoor season Saturday, competing at the BGSU Opener.

Sprints
In the 60 Meter Dash, the Viking duo of Tylar Mixon and Caprece Conrad both advanced to the final heat after placing in the top-eight in the prelims. Mixon finished fifth in the finals, crossing the finish line in a time of 7.95, while Conrad placed eighth in 8.46. Mijah Collier finished in the top-five in a pair of sprint events for the Vikings, finishing fifth in the 300 Meter Dash (42.87) and fourth in the 60 Meter Hurdles (9.14). Monica Johnson also placed in the top-five in the 60 Meter Hurdles, crossing the finish line in a time of 9.05 for a fifth place showing.

Distance
Cleveland State's Anna Brandt finished first in the Mile Run, finishing in a time of 5:08.60. In the 3000 Meter Run, Jessica Finley placed second, finishing in a time of 10:25.45. Three Vikings finished in the top-five in the 800 Meter Run, with Adelle Tannous placing second (2:31.98), Deja Emmanus finishing third (2:32.02) and Korrin Spurlock placing fifth (2:35.51).

Relays
The Cleveland State quartet of Anna Brandt, Mijah Collier, Caprece Conrad, and Julianne Dorothal finished fourth in the 1600 Meter Relay, posting a time of 4:20.56.

Field
Julianne Dorothal placed fifth in the both the Long Jump and High Jump events, as she recorded a mark of 4.67m in the long jump and finished with a mark of 1.54m in the high jump.
