Track & Field Helps With Greater Cleveland Habitat For Humanity – ReStore

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Last week the Cleveland State track and field team took time out of their competitive schedule to give back to the community, as members of the team spent time at Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity – ReStore.

"We are so pleased to have had the opportunity to work with Habitat for Humanity – ReStore to support their affordable housing efforts in our city. This cause resonated with us because more than 60-percent of our student-athletes are from Cleveland or the immediate area, and it means a lot to us to be able to give back to our local community," head coach Madeleine Outman said.

During their service shift, the Vikings completed a wide range of tasks that go into helping ReStore function on a day-to-day basis.

Among those tasks, the team organized materials that were being brought into the warehouse, assisted customers that were looking for items in the warehouse, arranged specific building materials that were still in good condition, and helped load and unload supplies.

Throughout the day, the team had a wonderful time giving back and doing their part, but most importantly, they realized how much of a positive effect their efforts can have on the community.

Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity – ReStore is one of the largest reuse and recycle centers in Cuyahoga County. Consumers and builders use ReStore to find new and gently used building supplies, tools, furniture, appliances, and more to help in the building process with Habitat for Humanity.
