Vikings Open Outdoor Season At Tribe Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, VA. – The Cleveland State track and field team competed in its first of seven outdoor meets Saturday, participating in the William & Mary Tribe Invitational.

Rachel Wenzel was Cleveland State's lone competitor in the field events, placing fourth in the high jump, clearing a mark of 1.53.

Cleveland State's best finish in the sprint events came in the 100 Meter Dash, as Chan'lier Myers finished second in a time of 12.63. Myers also had a team-best fourth place finish in the 200 Meter Dash, crossing the finish line in 26.13.

The Vikings had a pair of third place finishes in the distance events, as Samantha Meyer finished third in the 1500 Meter Run with a time of 5:05.50, and Jessica Finley placed third in the 5000 Meter Run with a time of 18:07.26.

In the relay events, the Vikings finished second in a time of 50.52 in the 4x100 Meter Relay.

The Vikings will return to action at the Oliver Nikoloff Open on Saturday, March 31, which is hosted by the University of Cincinnati.
