KENT, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's track and field team continued its indoor season Saturday, participating in the Doug Raymond Invitational hosted by Kent State. This was the second indoor meet of the season for the Vikings, but the first since the beginning of December.
Cleveland State recorded four top-five individual finishes on the day, led by Chan'lier Myers who finished third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.23. Caprece Conrad (4th – 1:04.52) and Deja Emmanus (5th – 1:05.55) also finished in the top-five in the 400 meter dash, while Hannah Gaskins placed fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.60.
All three Cleveland State 4x400 relay teams also placed in the top-five, with the team of Karen Barrientos, Samantha Meyer, Anna Brandt, and Kylie Scott pacing the team with a time of 4:23.71 to finish third.
In the 60 meter dash prelims, Briah Owens recorded a time of 7.98 to earn a spot in the finals, where she placed sixth with a time of 8.02.
Samantha Butterbaugh paced the Viking distance runners, placing eighth in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:40.79.
Cleveland State will continue its indoor season next Saturday (January 20), competing in the Tiffin Dragon Open.
