CLEVELAND, Ohio - Fresh off winning its third straight Horizon League Championship, the Cleveland State men's tennis team received some news for the future when the The Tennis Recruiting Network (TennisRecruiting.net) announced that the Vikings have the 22nd-best mid-major men's recruiting class in the country.

In addition, the CSU women's team was among those teams receiving consideration for their recruiting class.

Both teams were the only Horizon League schools to receive a mention.

"It is an honor to have both programs receive a mention from TennisRecruiting.net," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "It shows that both programs are moving in a positive direction and we are out showing these student-athletes that Cleveland State is not only a great place to play tennis, but also a wonderful institution."

The men's recruiting class includes Matt Ford (Allen, Texas) and Matthew Kuelker (St. Louis, Mo.), both four star recruits according to the site.

Kuelker was the top-ranked player in Missouri, No. 2 in the Plains region and 84th in the nation in the most recent rankings. Ford is the 20th-ranked player in Texas, 31st in the Gulf States and 186th in the nation according to the latest rankings.

The CSU men's team recently concluded the 2010 season with a 20-8 record, its third straight season of 20 wins. The Vikings also captured their third straight Horizon League title and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the third consecutive season.

The women's team finished the year with a 15-12 overall record, finishing a program-best second in the Horizon League regular season with a 7-1 mark.
