INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Cleveland State sophomore Catrine Bjerrehus (Aarhus, Denmark) has been named the Horizon League Women's Tennis Player of the Week following her performances in three Viking matches last weekend.

It marks Bjerrehus' first selection this spring.

"This is a wonderful honor for Catrine and much deserved," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "She has been playing some wonderful tennis for us this spring and has been very crafty with her offense. If she continues to work as hard as she has been, she will be at her best when the majority of our league schedule rolls around."

Bjerrehus went 2-1 at No. 1 singles and 3-0 in doubles play over the weekend. She recorded a 7-5, 7-5 win against Bowling Green and 6-3, 6-0 victory against Oakland.

Bjerrehus also paired with Charlotte Gibbons to notch an 8-6 victory against BGSU and 8-7 win versus Toledo at No. 1 doubles. She also teamed with Molly Drake at No. 3 doubles to defeat Oakland, 8-5.

The Vikings are back in action on Sunday (March 7) when CSU hosts Youngstown State at 2:00 p.m. at River Oaks Racquet Club to begin Horizon League play.
