Contact: Jessica GerichCHICAGO, Ill. - The Cleveland State women's tennis concluded its regular season on Sunday, falling to UIC with a 4-3 loss. The loss drops the team to 16-7 overall and 5-3 in the Horizon League.

The Vikings finished third in the regular season in the Horizon League, its highest place in program history.

Sophomore Charlotte Gibbons finished her season undefeated against Horizon League opponents with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Grace Gill-Morlis at No. 4 singles. Sophomore Denisa Muntean won 7-5, 6-3 over Amy Jellish and senior Lindsay Sellers defeated Jenna Reisch 3-6, 6-3, 10-4 at No. 6 singles to earn CSU's three points.

UIC swept CSU in doubles competition, finishing their season undefeated in the Horizon League.

"We played three competitive doubles matches against UIC," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "The bottom of the lineup played really well. We were able to take three points from the best team in the conference."

The Vikings begin the Horizon League Championship as the third seed on Friday, April 25 in Indianapolis, Ind.
