GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Cleveland State women's tennis team opened the Horizon League season with a 7-0 win at Green Bay on Saturday evening.

Coming off the best league season in school history last year at 7-1, the Vikings improved to 6-9 overall and 1-0 in league play.

"This was a very good match for us and exactly what we needed to do to open league play," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "We came out really focused and won a lot of key points that we had not been doing over the last few matches. I am happy with the direction that this team is going and we will continue to work hard and improve."

CSU swept through the three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead and then won all six singles contests to earn the sweep. The Vikings did not lose a set in any of the six singles matches.

The Vikings continue their two match swing through Wisconsin with a 10:00 a.m. match at Milwaukee on Sunday morning.
