ORLANDO, Florida - The Cleveland State women's team dropped the doubles point and won two singles matches in their loss to UConn on Monday. The loss snapped a three match win streak for the Vikings and drops the team to 10-4 on the season.

Freshmen Melissa Holzinger and Jackie Tabb picked up a victory over Emily Koch and BreAnn Chung at No. 3 doubles, but it was not enough to claim the doubles point. Holzinger also won at No. 1 singles, defeating Kelley LoRusso, 6-2, 6-0. Sophomore Denisa Muntean won the other point for the day, winning 7-6 (2), 6-4 over Emily Koch at No. 6 singles.

"UConn played better, more aggressive doubles than us today," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "They came off returns and serves better than us and that got us down in the doubles point. We had a difficult time closing out the matches and that cost us."

The Vikings face Radford on Wednesday, March 12 to complete their spring training trip.
