Cleveland State Women’s Tennis Returns Home To Host Dayton

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team will finally return to the friendly confines of the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion to close out non-league play this weekend, hosting Dayton on Saturday, March 25.

Match #15 | Dayton | Saturday, March 25 | 10:00 a.m.

Entering Saturday's match the Vikings stand at 8-6 overall this season, and will be playing their first match in 20 days. Last time out, Cleveland State split its matches at West Virginia (L, 5-2) and against Howard (W, 4-3), closing out a six-match roadswing.

Earlier this month, Tereze Vevere was named the Horizon League Singles Player of the Week after going 2-0 against West Virginia and Howard last time out, becoming one of four Vikings to earn #HLTennis Singles Player of the Week honors this season. Vevere currently leads the team with an 18-9 singles record overall this year, while Bethany Yauch is close behind with a 15-11 overall mark.

Yauch enters Saturday's match just two wins shy of 50 career singles wins, and would become the 17th Viking all-time to reach the milestone.

In doubles, Vevere and Ella Franz own a team-best 10-2 record on the year, while Yauch and Sima Heren have a team-best 8-5 record during dual match play.

So far this season the Vikings own a 3-2 record at the MMTP, with Saturday's match marking the first of four remaining home contests for Cleveland State over the final weeks of the spring campaign.
