Women’s Tennis Continues Play At Akron Shootout

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team continued play at the Akron Shootout Saturday, led by a pair of singles wins from Klara Mrcela and Blanche Lenoan.

"I thought Klara played really well in her singles match today, and Blanche came out focused to pick up a win on her court. Even though Lara wasn't able to win her match, I thought she played a nice match which will definitely be something to build on for the future," head coach Frank Polito said. "In doubles I thought we played well as a team, highlighted by Gaby and Kate who played a solid match from start to finish. We are looking forward to the final day of play tomorrow, and hopefully closing out the weekend on a good note."

In singles action, Klara Mrcela improved to 2-0 at the Akron Shootout, picking up a 6-3, 7-6(5) victory over Akron's Rita Pedroso. Blanche Lenoan also picked up a singles win for the Vikings, earning a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Akron's Enya Forgaci.
