Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Play At Iberostar College Cup

CANCUN, Mexico – The Cleveland State women's tennis team wrapped up play at the Iberostar College Cup Friday, closing out the first tournament of the 2019 fall campaign.

"I thought we played well in the morning and then continued that throughout the afternoon when we competed hard and had some great energy on the courts," head coach Frank Polito said. "Although we didn't get the results we wanted today, I thought we battled until the very end of all the matches and had chances on every court. Now we need to refocus and prepare for our next tournament, which will be in the MMTP – a place that we have had much success lately."

Klara Mrcela and Lara Prosenjak both picked up their first singles wins of the fall season Friday, Mrcela posting an 8-4 win over Kim Bohlen of Southeastern Louisiana and Prosenjak earning an 8-5 victory over SLU's Flory Bierma.
